Exciting news, my faithful readers…I’m going to be moving! That’s right. I will be putting my little townhouse on the market soon, and I’ll be looking for another home. And, I’m not leaving Albuquerque, so don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere.
My realtors have come by my home to give their idea on how much it could list and a few ideas of what I can do to get ready for showings. Thankfully their list wasn’t long.
I made sure to tell them immediately that I haven’t done any major updates to the home, but I’ve maintained it, and I’ve also had code upgrades done on my furnace and water heater. My water heater is only 5 ½ years old, but when installed, the “plumber” didn’t make sure to install earthquake straps and an expansion tank. I put plumber in quotations for a myriad of reasons, mostly because I’m sure they were friends of the sellers and just “slapped” the water heater in to get it done. But that’s more of a horror story for Halloween than an upbeat blog.
I’m fortunate that I haven’t had any issues with the water heater since I’ve owned this house. No leaks, and there’s always been hot water for baths, cleaning dishes, and washing my hands before and during the pandemic.
What About Unexpected Problems?
But what if I wasn’t planning on moving, or suddenly my water heater blew up in the garage or sprung a leak? What would I have done?
Well, I could’ve scheduled a free estimate for a new water heater with Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling and then had a new Ruud water heater installed. While I’m not one to be partial to brands, Ruud would be an amazing choice because of the Ruud Water Heater Program. What’s the best part of the program? I could have my choice of tanked OR tankless water heater! How amazing would a tankless water heater be?
Now, what if I needed a new water heater but was still planning on moving? The program can be transferred to the new homeowner, and they would assume the contract with Ruud if they chose to. That means that if my monthly payments for the water heater were as low as $39.99 a month (which they can be!), then the new homeowner could take over that contract and pay the same amount each month.
Depending on the water heater in my next home, I might consider signing with the Ruud water heater program to get the tankless water heater of my dreams. I mean, installation, maintenance, and repairs are INCLUDED in the monthly payment! To top it off, the team with Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling would also pull the permit and schedule the inspection for me after the installation was done! I’m practically salivating just over the idea of having a tankless water heater.
Having a program like this helps to take away the stress of having a water heater and watching it age. It’s comforting to know that if the water heater wasn’t working properly, or was leaking, that I could call the professionals at Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling to take care of it for the intended lifespan – maybe longer! This is peace of mind for any homeowner – new or current.
