Family is of the utmost importance with the team at Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling. When one of us is hurt, we all hurt. When one is happy and celebrating, we’re all happy and celebrating.
This blog will be a somber one this week. We’re sad to share with our readers and the Albuquerque community of the passing of an ABQ Plumbing family member. Keely Whittington helped drive marketing and advertising for the company and was a vibrant and fun personality.
Keely knew what it was like to be a woman in the construction industry, and it was harder for her in the mid to late 90s. She worked in maintenance and ran janitorial and security teams at her properties in New Mexico. She later moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where she negotiated with contractors on the Springs Resort & Spa. Following her career in construction, she made a move to marketing and advertising.
Keely Was A Huge Part And Influence Of Splash Advertising
Keely was a huge part of Splash Advertising and could be seen at local home shows visiting with vendors and striking up a conversation with everyone she met. She was known to be a tough cookie in business and helped others to develop that same toughness.
While with Splash Advertising, she would notify ABQ Plumbing and others about events going on around town, such as Scareaton at the Sheraton Hotel, where children could participate in safe trick-or-treating and a haunted house.
Keely was also the kind of person who inspired other women to straighten their crown and support other women in the workforce, no matter what their career was. She also inspired the chief administrative officer with ABQ Plumbing Heating & Cooling, Vanessa Gonzales, to join the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce and went with her to her first Commerce meeting.
She Was Always Uplifting
Keely was never the kind of person to talk down about another woman. Instead, she was the kind to build them up and encourage them in their endeavors. Keely also had a way of speaking with anyone that didn’t make them feel less than their worth, and she was known to provide an honest answer. You always knew where you stood with her, and she gave her honest and straightforward opinion on everything that was asked of her.
Outside of work, she was very active with the PTA with her children’s schools. The mother of two boys and one girl, she frequently volunteered and participated in events involving their charter schools. Keely also earned her pilot’s license and was trained to fly small airplanes.
We’ll Miss Keely Dearly Here At Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
“There will be a hole there, and the Albuquerque community will feel it,” says Vanessa Gonzales. The team with Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling feels the loss of this amazing person, and we’ll miss her greatly.
